About HonestCareIndia and how we research prices
HonestCareIndia is an independent research site. We publish cost guides for people in the US, UK, Canada and the UAE who are thinking about treatment in India, and we try to be the page we'd want to read before booking a flight.
Who we are
We're an independent publisher, not a hospital, clinic, insurer or booking agency. We don't perform or arrange surgery, and nothing on this site is medical advice. When you use our quote form, we help you ask clinics or hospitals for a written, itemised estimate, and you decide what happens next.
Our guides are signed “HonestCareIndia research desk” because they're team research, checked against published sources. We don't put a doctor's name on a page unless that doctor actually reviewed it, and we don't invent reviewers or credentials.
How to read our price comparisons
A provider’s published price, a third-party comparison and your personal written estimate are different kinds of evidence. Check the named source, its date, currency and included components before comparing them. Rechecking a source does not make its original publication a new clinic offer.
Research guides cannot determine whether a treatment is suitable for you. Ask the treating professional to review your case and confirm your clinical plan, price and follow-up arrangements.
How we gather prices
- Published sources only. We use hospital and clinic price pages, medical-travel aggregators that publish hospital listings, government and regulator pages, and national price or wait-time data for each home country.
- Every number links to its source. Numbered references on each guide open a “Sources” list with the page we used and the date we checked it. If we can't reach or verify a source, we drop the figure rather than guess.
- Ranges, not promises. Sources disagree and change, so we show bands and say who published them. Aggregators and clinic blogs are marketing sources, and we label them that way.
- Currency conversion. Most India prices for international patients are published in US dollars. We convert to pounds, Canadian dollars and dirhams at a stated snapshot rate and round the result. Your quote and your card's exchange rate will differ.
- Regular re-checks. Each guide shows when it was last reviewed. When a source moves, we update the figures and the date.
How we think about hospitals and clinics
We don't publish “Top 10 hospital” lists, and no hospital or clinic can pay to be ranked or recommended here. Instead, we suggest criteria you can check yourself:
- Accreditation you can verify on the accreditor's own site, such as NABH in India or JCI internationally.
- For IVF, registration under India's ART (Regulation) Act, 2021, checked against the national registry.
- A written, itemised quote naming the procedure, implant or device brand, what's included and excluded, and the expected stay.
- A clear aftercare plan for when you're back home, including who to contact if something goes wrong.
- Surgeon or dentist qualifications you can confirm with the relevant registration body.
No paid placements
No hospital, clinic or facilitator pays to be listed, ranked or recommended on this site, and the prices we publish come from the sources we cite, not from advertisers. We'll always ask before sharing your details with anyone.
